Elections to the Legislative assembly of maharashtra and Haryana, 2014- Advantage BJP

When the dust get settled in the elections for the Maharashtra and Haryana legislative assembly seats, the picture that emerges is advantage BJP which stands tall beyond it's nearest competitor. What has been the effects of such a dramatic turn of events needs to be analysed.

The biggest factor for the victory of the BJP has been the Modi factor and the general acceptance of the policies of Modiji. The popularity of the PM is ever more evident that has translated into results. For Maharashtra, the equations has dramatically changed with the BJP now becoming the senior partner. For the BJP, it is also evident that it is finally settling down to being a truly national party. It is growing through out India with an increasing foot print even in states where it did not have any presence previously. What further boots the BJP is the growing acceptance within the population.

For the congress, the picture is totally different. The congress has lost big time in these
elections. But what is surprising is the fact that the congress seems to be in total deniance. It seems they have not learned anything from their Lok Sabha debacle. There has not been any serious introception within the party, no analysis as to why they have been rooted out. The leadership and those people who has been in charge remains the same. No heads have rolled. With the same leadership in charge, the congress has yet again lost out. Of course, nobody is writing off the congress. They may recoup and some day. But what is obvious is that some thing is amiss within that party. What is surprising is the fact that they still shy away from criticising the "dynasty". The congress, the grand old party as they claim has failed to nurture a new generation of leadership. further no new leadership is allowed to grow who has vision and the strategy to correct the ills of the party. It seems they are in auto pilot without any clear cut strategy in their radar. If this goes on like this, congress stands to loose big time in the future.

For the regional parties, it seems  the writing on the wall is pretty clear. Their age of domination is clearly over. We may not be out of the era of coalition politics. But the indicators seem to be in favour of the national parties .Having said that, in politics, there is nothing that is impossible.

Now the time has come to wait and watch how the equations translate into government formation.

Congratulations to all the winners. May you be blessed to do the service to the common man for which you have been elected.
