But today that security is being eroded by the arrival of super-maneuverable aircraft like the Sukhoi 27 Flanker and Sukhoi 30 Flanker C. These combat jets have been inducted in large numbers in the air forces of China, Indonesi a, Malaysia and Vietnam. The arrival of the Sukhois has evened the odds in the Asia Pacific theatre. Australian pilots, who considered themselves top guns flying their F-18 Hornet and F-111 Aardvark fighter bombers, now are having to faceoff with the Flankers that are superior in almost every aspect. Remembering Nelson Mandela, one of the greatest leaders of the the world may have ever seen

Nelson Mandela Nelson Mandela In this life, when there is evil, a person comes along who rewrites history by becoming history himself, who fights all odds and changes systems that was long supposed to unchangeable. When Apartheid (the policy of racial segregation on the lines of a person's colour)  was rampant in South Africa, this great man came along fought a relentless battle, spend almost 27 years behind and in the end won the battle making racial discrimination illegal. His war was peaceful taking inspiration from the great Mahatma. He went on to become the first black President of South Africa. Today when he left this world for the heavens, we the humanity has lost a noble soul , a great leader and one that will never be replaced. I salute you sir for your life's work. May your soul rest peace.

Indian Navy- Challenges and opportunities ahead

Pic Courtesy-Wikimedia When you talk about India, there is no second guess of the fact that India is a predominantly a sea power with three sides surrounded by Oceans. The guardians of these Oceans are the force that is fast emerging as a power to be reckoned with, an emerging blue water power, The India Navy.  From a humble beginning after Independence, Indian navy has grown in complexity and structure down the years and now acts as the ambassador and protector for India in the world arena. As my readers may be well aware, Indian navy consists of three main commands, The western command, The eastern command and the southern command. While southern command is predominantly a training command, the western fleet (considered to be the sword arm of the Indian navy) got the lions share of the assets that was inducted over the years, thanks to it being responsible for the Arabian sea where in it was empowered to control the Pakistani threat. The eastern fleet mandated to secure Ind
